Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and auxiliaries used in chilled water production, excluding chillers. The role supports the District Cooling Plant, Chilled Water Network, and Energy Transfer station to ensure minimal downtime and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on pumps, cooling towers, gearboxes, heat exchangers, valves, pipework, and air compressors.
• Respond to mechanical faults reported through the work order system, inspect sites, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform prescribed tests to verify equipment performance against specifications in coordination with operations.
• Utilize appropriate spare parts to restore chilled water supply quickly, especially during emergencies.
• Schedule major maintenance with supervisors and adhere to established maintenance cycles.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Technology or Maintenance.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on experience with rotating and static mechanical equipment.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Awareness of safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out systems.
• Basic understanding of district cooling plant operations.
