Lead Technician

About the role

The Lead Technician will ensure reliable operation of all electrical facilities at Petro Rabigh, covering low‑ and high‑voltage switchgear, protection systems, and power equipment. This senior position requires extensive maintenance experience in a refining and petrochemical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment faults, plan repairs, and manage spare‑part requirements for LV/HV switchgear, transformers, VFDs, UPS, generators, and related systems.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including thermography, oil analysis, and partial discharge testing.
• Lead root‑cause failure analysis, drive corrective actions, and recommend improvements to enhance plant reliability.
• Oversee contractor work under OPEX/service contracts and provide technical training to staff.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of experience in the refining/petrochemical industry.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and result‑orientation skills.
• Advanced computer literacy, including Office tools and SAP.
• Familiarity with international maintenance standards and best practices.

Required skills

• Expertise in LV/HV switchgear, protection relays, SF6 gas handling, and VFD programming (TMEIC, Toshiba, ABB, Siemens).
• Hands‑on experience with UPS systems, battery banks, power cables, transformers, motors, and generators.
• Proficiency in predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, oil analysis, and partial discharge testing.
• Ability to configure, test, and upload settings for protective relaying and intelligent electrical devices (IEDs).
