Logistics Officer – Customs & Trade Compliance (UAE/GCC)

About the role

JD.com is looking for a detail‑oriented Logistics Officer to oversee customs documentation, clearance, and compliance for its import/export operations across the UAE and GCC region. The role ensures smooth shipment processing, regulatory adherence, and high client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and submit customs documents (invoices, air waybills, packing lists, HS codes) in line with UAE customs regulations and international standards.
• Use JDL and other customs platforms to manage documentation and ensure compliance with UAE, GCC, and global trade laws, including bonded zones and exemptions.
• Handle clearance for air, sea, and land shipments (FCL, LCL, break bulk, B2B, B2C) coordinating with customs authorities, free zones, and mainland UAE.
• Calculate and process customs duties and taxes, maintain reconciled financial records, and prepare related invoices.
• Act as the primary client contact for customs procedures, duty obligations, and shipment updates, liaising with officials, freight forwarders, and vendors.
• Monitor shipments from port to warehouse, manage cross‑border logistics within the GCC, and coordinate truck allocation and tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics, customs clearance, and trade compliance within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE customs regulations, GCC trade laws, and HS code classification.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDL customs platform.
• Experience using customs/billing systems.
• Ability to classify products using HS codes.
