MariaDB Administrator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced MariaDB Administrator to manage and optimise our database environment across Production, UAT, and Development platforms. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, and security of MariaDB servers in a Linux/Unix ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain MariaDB Server on Linux/Unix systems.
• Monitor database health, availability and performance; perform regular maintenance, patching and optimisation.
• Analyse and tune complex SQL queries, manage indexing strategies and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Design and implement logical and physical backup strategies, conduct point‑in‑time recovery and test restoration procedures.
• Configure and manage replication (master‑slave/master‑master) and clustering solutions, preferably Galera Cluster.
• Apply security best practices, manage users/roles, apply patches and conduct compliance audits.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python or Ansible and support CI/CD pipelines with DevOps teams.
• Provide 24/7 troubleshooting, incident resolution and on‑call support as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Strong hands‑on experience with MariaDB/MySQL architecture.
• Proven expertise in replication, clustering (Galera preferred), performance tuning and backup/recovery.
• Solid Linux/Unix system administration skills.
• Experience with database monitoring tools and TCP/IP networking.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus.
• Saudi nationality is required.
