Mechanical Project Engineer - HVAC & Commissioning

About the role

Eram Talent is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a project in Saudi Arabia, based in Jeddah. The role covers residential unit HVAC and mechanical systems design reviews, material installation, site supervision and quality inspections for major building rectification and upgrade programmes. It requires a high level of expertise in designing, executing, testing and commissioning complex mechanical systems, with strict adherence to design criteria, codes and industry standards throughout the project life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review design packages and give constructability feedback to the design and engineering team or consultants.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings and as-built drawings across trades and disciplines.
• Supervise and inspect mechanical work, monitoring daily project progress.
• Carry out QA/QC inspections, identify non-conforming work and report quality metrics.
• Answer contractor inspection requests and technical queries, and issue field directives with the project management team.
• Verify quantities and work progress, and resolve mechanical design issues with contractors and other stakeholders.
• Support technical decisions on mechanical systems and assist with installation, troubleshooting and repair where needed.
• Guide the operation of mechanical distribution systems and lead commissioning, startup and adjustments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience verifying design against construction, QA/QC, material specifications and commissioning, mainly residential HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Experience in site supervision, QA/QC inspections and material installation.
• Strong experience in residential HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes, standards and commissioning processes.
• Team player with strong problem-solving ability, able to handle high pressure and travel to project sites as required.
