Oil Test Engineer

About the role

The Oil Test Engineer is responsible for performing transformer insulating oil testing to ensure compliance with IEC standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing quality requirements. The role supports production, oil filling, filtration, and factory acceptance testing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine insulating oil tests such as BDV, moisture, Tan Delta, acidity, IFT, density, and visual inspection.
• Conduct Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) using Gas Chromatography (GC) and interpret results with IEC methods, Rogers Ratio, and Duval Triangle.
• Identify transformer insulation conditions and fault types through oil analysis.
• Support oil testing during production, oil filling, filtration, and FAT activities.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory testing equipment and GC systems.
• Prepare laboratory reports, test records, and customer documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IEC standards, quality requirements, and HSSE procedures.
• Assist with audits, customer witness testing, and high‑voltage transformer projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in transformer oil testing, DGA, and GC operation.
• Strong knowledge of IEC oil testing standards and transformer fault diagnosis.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and laboratory skills.
