Packaging Buyer Support – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Packaging Buyer Support role ensures the timely procurement and supply of packaging materials and consumables needed for uninterrupted business operations. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, the specialist maintains cost efficiency, quality standards, and food‑safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support sourcing and purchasing of packaging materials and consumables.
• Create, issue, and follow up on Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) through to delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers to confirm orders, manage deliveries, and resolve issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and help maintain optimal stock availability.
• Track material consumption, usage trends, and packaging spend for procurement planning.
• Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and item master data in ERP systems.
• Assist in supplier evaluations, quotation analysis, and bid comparisons.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
• Resolve supply, quality, and invoice discrepancies with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure packaging materials meet approved specifications, quality standards, and food‑safety requirements.
• Prepare procurement reports on purchasing activity, inventory, supplier performance, and operational KPIs.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost procurement efficiency and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Packaging Technology, Food Science or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or administrative support.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or packaging environments is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement processes.
