Pediatric Resident

About the role

The Pediatric Resident will provide comprehensive patient care within the pediatric wards of Fakeeh Care. Working under the supervision of attending physicians, the resident will manage inpatient and outpatient cases, ensure accurate documentation, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients, obtain detailed medical, medication, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional histories, and perform physical examinations.
• Document findings, clinical information, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
• Notify attending physicians of admitted inpatients, discuss clinical conditions, and clarify work‑up and management plans.
• Conduct daily rounds on assigned wards and record assessments and care plans.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond promptly to patient complaints, and manage emergencies with specialist assistance.
• Provide clinical justification for advanced diagnostic tests (CT, MRI, US) and ensure documentation complies with Fakeeh Care policies and insurance standards, including correct ICD coding.
• Complete handover reports at shift changes, detailing pending diagnostic and therapeutic tasks.
• Coordinate care among nurses, consultants, dietitians, social workers, laboratory, radiology, and insurance physicians.
• Accurately complete required forms, including medical transfer and discharge summaries, and discuss discharge instructions with patients.
• Attend departmental meetings, contribute to projects, and engage in quality and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Report unresolved medical issues to attendings or department chairs and participate in continuous medical education to earn required CME credits.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by department chairs, adhering to granted privileges.
