Platform Engineering Expert

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Platform Engineering Expert to join our Infrastructure Platform Engineering team. This senior individual contributor will own complex cloud‑native infrastructure, drive automation, and mentor fellow engineers while spending the majority of time on hands‑on technical execution.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical reference for complex platform issues and architecture decisions.
• Design, implement, and optimise infrastructure architectures for reliability, scalability and performance.
• Lead major upgrades, migrations and automation initiatives.
• Own and enhance Infrastructure‑as‑Code modules (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Implement and enforce secrets management, SSL/TLS and IAM standards.
• Drive observability and performance improvements across clusters and services.
• Automate platform operations using Bash or Go scripting.
• Collaborate with security, architecture and development teams to align standards.
• Conduct peer reviews, mentor engineers and promote best practices.
• Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and resilience testing.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps or Infrastructure roles.
• Deep expertise in Linux, Kubernetes and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (compute, networking, storage, IAM).
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
• Advanced Bash scripting skills and working knowledge of Go.
• Proven knowledge of secrets management and security best practices (Vault, SSL/TLS, IAM).
• Hands‑on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and ELK.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
