Procurement Assistant Team Leader – Telecom

About the role

The Procurement Assistant Team Leader will drive all procurement activities for a telecom organization, ensuring cost‑effective service delivery in line with strategic objectives and service level agreements. Reporting to the supervising director, the role combines hands‑on sourcing with leadership of purchasing analysts and cross‑functional coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement projects, from RFP development through supplier selection and contract signing.
• Provide strategic input to the supervising director on sourcing strategy and market trends.
• Review and classify purchasing requests, assign them to analysts, and monitor SLA compliance for tendered and non‑tendered change orders.
• Maintain and regularly update the supplier catalogue, managing risks and segmentation criteria.
• Identify and implement procurement synergies across subsidiaries.
• Prepare business cases, track demand/consumption trends, and support business planning with the Procurement GM.
• Collaborate with unit managers and suppliers to define project specifications and prioritize sourcing initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract management within the telecommunications industry.
• Proven ability to manage complex sourcing projects and lead a team of purchasing analysts.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of procurement principles and supply‑chain concepts.
• Experience with RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes and vendor selection.
• Negotiation, vendor management, and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
