Production Jr. Technician – Pretreatment & Electrodeposition (PT/ED)

About the role

The Pretreatment & Electrodeposition (PT/ED) Production Jr. Technician leads safe and efficient PT/ED operations in Lucid’s automotive paint shop. Reporting to the shift leader, the technician ensures body quality, corrosion protection, and production throughput while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily PT/ED production to meet volume, takt time, and shift targets.
• Monitor and control pretreatment stages (degreasing, rinsing, activation, phosphating, passivation) and electrodeposition bath parameters (solids %, pH, conductivity, temperature).
• Manage line start‑up, shutdown, changeovers and recovery after downtime.
• Verify body corrosion protection meets OEM standards and internal KPIs; conduct PTED checks and inspection verification.
• Lead root‑cause analysis using 5‑Why or Fishbone methods and implement corrective actions.
• Support audits, capability studies and customer quality requirements.
• Enforce safety rules, chemical handling standards, lockout/tagout procedures and proper PPE use.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure environmental compliance for wastewater treatment.

Required profile

• Junior‑level experience in automotive paint shop or similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead operators and technicians, drive QCDSM targets and maintain high morale.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with experience in structured RCA.
• Commitment to safety, environmental standards and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Pretreatment process knowledge (degreasing, rinsing, activation, phosphating, passivation).
• Electrodeposition bath control (solids %, pH, conductivity, temperature).
• Ultrafiltration system operation and permeate quality monitoring.
• Root cause analysis techniques (5‑Why, Fishbone).
• Safety procedures including lockout/tagout and PPE usage.
• Operation of conveyors, tanks, rectifiers and lifting tools.
