Production Operator

About the role

The Production Operator is responsible for setting up and running equipment that blends, mixes, packages, or transports liquid and dry chemicals used in customer products. The role ensures high‑quality output while meeting cost, specification, and delivery targets in line with Avient Corporation policies.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, start, and operate all machinery, verifying controls meet safety, operating, and ISO standards.
• Weigh and load ingredients or pre‑blended materials according to recipe specifications.
• Monitor production flow and equipment performance, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Operate mixers, extruders, and material handling equipment following standard procedures.
• Visually inspect materials for compliance and take samples for laboratory analysis when required.
• Report problems to the Production Lead or Shift Supervisor for resolution.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and maintain accurate system inputs, logs, and reports.
• Participate in training, continuous‑improvement initiatives, and uphold safety and housekeeping standards.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 55 lb regularly (occasionally up to 250 lb).
• Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, and chemical suits as dictated by plant safety guidelines.
• Comfort working in environments with noise, dust, fumes, humidity, and moving mechanical parts.
• Commitment to follow all safety, quality, and procedural regulations.
