QC Engineer

About the role

The Quality Control Engineer ensures that all casting and forging products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. You will lead inspection activities, manage non‑conforming material, and support continuous improvement across the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect casting and forging components according to procedures, drawings, and specifications.
• Drive the QC process throughout the casting shop and control non‑conforming products via the NCR procedure.
• Prepare inspection test plans (ITP) and product inspection plans for internal and external requirements.
• Perform inspections on raw materials, in‑process parts, and finished goods; record results and analyse quality data.
• Manage day‑to‑day inspection activities and liaise with third‑party inspection agencies.
• Coordinate root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and provide feedback to improve production processes.
• Maintain and improve quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and API Q1, and support customer or third‑party audits.
• Oversee calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment and ensure measurement accuracy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of quality‑control experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably casting or forging.
• Hands‑on experience with API Q1, API 20A/20B standards.
• Knowledge of ASTM, EN standards and metallurgical properties, including heat‑treatment processes.
• Certification as NDE ASNT/ISO 9712 Level‑II and QMS internal auditor.
