Research Assistant – Individual Contractor (6 months)

About the role
The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Saudi Arabia is seeking an Individual Contractor to work as a Research Assistant for six months. The role supports the Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Country Team by producing high‑quality research products that inform policy and strategic planning for Saudi Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare composite research packages including sector mapping, literature reviews, policy briefs and strategy notes.
- Conduct topical and sectoral mapping and analysis to identify collaboration opportunities for the UN Country Team.
- Draft concise policy briefs and strategy notes that align with the UN’s 2030 Agenda and Saudi national priorities.
- Support the Head of the Resident Coordinator Office with data collection, synthesis and presentation of findings.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and reference materials for ongoing UN initiatives in the Kingdom.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Economics, Statistics or a related social science.
- Fluency in Arabic (speaking, reading, writing, understanding) and confident knowledge of English.
- Strong research and academic writing abilities.
- No prior professional experience required.
