Safety Officer – Oil & Gas Facilities

About the role

We are seeking a Safety Officer to join KBR Engineering Inc’s Sustainable Technology Solutions team in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on ensuring safe working conditions across oil & gas facilities through inspections, risk assessments and proactive safety management.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, tools, safety belts, ladders, ropes and other assets to verify compliance with safety standards.
• Observe work crews, identify unsafe practices and enforce the use of personal protective equipment such as goggles and gloves.
• Assess conditions of ditches and tunnels, recommending bracing or other controls to prevent cave‑ins.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
• Provide training and guidance on safe work methods and proper use of safety equipment.
• Promote reporting of unsafe acts and ensure adherence to all SHE procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil & gas maintenance related to safety.
• High school diploma or equivalent; diploma preferred.
• Strong technical understanding of maintenance safety tasks.
• Excellent communication, leadership and decision‑making abilities under pressure.
