Sales Executive - Events & Banquets

About the role

The ibis budget Makkah Al Aziziah hotel, part of the Accor network, is looking for a Sales Executive to own event enquiries and convert business for meetings, conferences, training programmes, corporate functions and social celebrations. The hotel is located in Makkah, about 7.5 km from Masjid Al Haram, and mainly serves the Hajj and Umrah markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned leads from initial qualification through to confirmed booking.
• Create accurate proposals covering venue, catering, audiovisual requirements, guestroom needs and event packages, and follow up consistently to secure decisions.
• Quote in line with approved rates, space availability and revenue guidelines, and identify upselling opportunities.
• Arrange and run venue showrounds, presentations and needs-assessment meetings.
• Prepare and track contracts, bookings, deposits and payment milestones with Finance and other teams.
• Hand over confirmed business, timelines and revisions to Event Planning / Operations and the relevant departments.
• Build relationships with corporate bookers, planners and social-event clients, seeking referrals and repeat business.
• Update enquiry status, conversion, forecast value, lost-business reasons and space utilisation in the designated systems.

Required profile

• Approximately 1-3 years' experience in hotel events sales, banqueting sales, MICE or a comparable venue-sales position.
• Working knowledge of event proposals, banquet packages, function-space selling, contracts and client handovers.
• Strong customer-service mindset, commercial instinct and follow-up discipline.
• Excellent coordination and attention to detail, able to handle several enquiries and deadlines at once.
• Fluent professional English, spoken and written; additional languages are an advantage.
• Saudi nationals only, able to work in Makkah and support the hotel's Hajj and Umrah business.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with hotel sales, events or CRM systems is preferred.
