Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join the Finance team of an innovative water infrastructure company in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting VAT and payroll processes, and assisting the Finance Manager with board‑level reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily double‑entry accounting postings in the ERP system for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet and supporting schedules.
• Validate payment vouchers, ensuring proper documentation, approvals and budget checks.
• Oversee payroll processing to guarantee completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Review and submit VAT returns in line with ZATCA requirements.
• Check sales invoices for correct revenue recognition.
• Assist the Finance Manager in compiling data for Board and shareholder reports.
• Maintain internal controls, policies and procedures and coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as SOCPA, ACCA, CA or CPA preferred.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in audit or accounting.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/financial systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles.
