Senior Accountant – Lead Accounting Function

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead the accounting function across all brands and branches, overseeing daily operations, sales and delivery platform reviews, supplier and cash management, and month‑end closing. The role ensures accurate records, timely reporting, and development of the accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily accounting operations, review journal entries and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Ensure expenses are charged to the correct account, branch, and brand and resolve accounting errors.
• Review sales from POS systems (Foodics), apps, and delivery platforms, including commissions, discounts, and promotions.
• Oversee customer and supplier accounts, reconcile statements and invoices.
• Manage cash and bank accounts, approve monthly bank, cash, and POS reconciliations.
• Lead month‑end closing, prepare final accounts, and review fixed assets, depreciation, and adjustments.
• Validate VAT data before filing and ensure compliance with ZATCA requirements.
• Prepare and explain actual P&L and periodic financial reports, highlighting variances.
• Coordinate with Finance, Operations, and Financial Analysis teams and support internal and external audits.
• Develop procedures, internal controls, and manage system access to maintain segregation of duties.
• Directly supervise accountants, assign tasks, review work, and provide training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Mandatory experience in the restaurant and café sector.
• Fluent Arabic and good English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Foodics.
• Reconciliation of POS and delivery platform sales.
• Strong knowledge of VAT and ZATCA requirements.
• Experience with an accounting ERP system.
• Proficiency in Xero.
• Advanced Excel skills.
