Senior Architect – Master Planning & Design Governance

About the role

The Senior Architect will lead the owner‑side architectural design governance for large‑scale development projects in Jeddah. Reporting to senior management, the role translates business objectives, operational needs and expansion strategies into a coordinated master plan and ensures its execution aligns with approved design intent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, refine and implement the Owner’s Design Brief and master‑planning strategy, including site zoning, land‑use planning, building layouts, functional adjacencies and phasing.
• Act as the primary architectural representative with master‑planning, architectural and engineering consultants, contractors and OEM representatives, reviewing and validating design submissions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved designs, identify deviations, assess execution risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Senior Infrastructure Engineer and project‑controls teams to align building layouts, utility corridors, site circulation and future expansion requirements.
• Lead design reviews focused on cost efficiency, constructability, functionality, project phasing and long‑term operational performance.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives while safeguarding business and operational requirements.
• Maintain structured documentation of design assumptions, approvals, technical decisions and consultant submissions, and prepare technical reports for management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in owner‑side architectural leadership for large‑scale development projects.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary consultant and contractor teams and to ensure design quality and compliance.
• Strong understanding of master‑planning principles, functional adjacencies, circulation planning and phased development.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and OEM representatives.
• Track record of delivering design solutions that meet operational, business and expansion goals.
