Senior Commercial Manager

About the role

KBR is recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager for a major mixed-use development in Riyadh, described as a landmark infrastructure programme. The role reports to the Senior Commercial Manager - Lead and coordinates with project management companies (PMCs) on executive commercial reporting, control, strategy, pre- and post-contract management, status reporting and project close-out reports.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and govern standard cost and commercial reporting formats for PMCs, and maintain a database of insurances, guarantees and warranties.
• Coordinate with PMCs to compile and validate analytical commercial data, manage executive risk reporting and develop the Project Cost Report, Commercial Executive Report and cash flows in Unifier.
• Review procurement guidelines for BoQ and tender documents, and prepare programme-wide consolidated cost reports for stakeholders such as DevCo, BOD, Excom, Treasury, PIF and HRH.
• Collate annual budgets and prepare monthly cash flow reports for client review and approval, and issue cost benchmark reports (tender price index, professional fees, construction costs, GFA/BUA, market prices).
• Take part in programme change control procedures, prepare project cost reports with trend analysis and change reporting, and link cost breakdown structure with work breakdown structure using earned value.
• Update the programme baseline budget, support the business plan exercise, and provide portfolio-wide risk management, consolidating PMC risk registers into programme and departmental ones.
• Assist the client with commercial strategy, lead contracts, risk and support service departments, and produce commercial reports throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quantity surveying.
• Minimum 15 years of post-graduation experience, including prior experience as Senior Commercial Manager.
• Certified as MRICS, CIOB or equivalent.
• Sound knowledge of commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects, with significant experience in procurement and contract management.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Experience in international contracting mechanisms including FIDIC and NEC.
• Experienced user of MS Office and understanding of project management software.
• Leadership, strong communication, commercial awareness, planning and organisation skills, and HSE awareness.
