Senior Data Engineer – SSIS & Semantic Layer Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics Office in Riyadh. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ETL processes and semantic layers that enable reliable analytics and data‑driven decision‑making across a government‑sector organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain logical and physical data models, applying industry‑standard techniques and, where appropriate, Data Vault methodology.
• Create and manage a centralized semantic layer, defining ontologies, taxonomies and business definitions to provide self‑service analytics for business users.
• Develop, optimise and support ETL/ELT pipelines with a strong emphasis on SSIS, ensuring high reliability, performance and availability for batch and near‑real‑time processing.
• Implement data‑quality checks throughout the data lifecycle, monitor accuracy and completeness, and resolve issues proactively.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, BI developers and business stakeholders to gather requirements, deliver feature stores and industrialised data products.
• Document data flows, pipelines and data‑model decisions to maintain clear knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development and data modelling.
• Strong expertise with SSIS, SQL and large‑scale data pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with semantic layer development and data‑mart design.
• Familiarity with Data Vault modelling is a plus.
• Ability to work in Arabic and non‑Arabic environments and communicate effectively with technical and business teams.
• Senior‑level problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering reliable data products.
