Senior Database Engineer – Enterprise DB, MQ & LDAP

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise database, IBM MQ, and LDAP services. The role ensures high availability, security, performance, and disaster‑recovery readiness across production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain LDAP directory servers in development, UAT, and production.
• Design the Directory Information Tree, including OUs, custom object classes, and attributes.
• Set up and monitor Multi‑Master or Master‑Slave replication for high availability.
• Implement and enforce Access Control Lists for data security.
• Perform health checks, load testing, and performance tuning of JVM and database caches.
• Install, upgrade, and configure IBM MQ components, including queue managers, queues, channels, and clusters.
• Monitor MQ performance, manage security settings, and automate maintenance tasks with scripting.
• Design and execute disaster‑recovery and high‑availability strategies.
• Administer IBM DB2, Couchbase, Microsoft SQL Server, and support PostgreSQL and MongoDB environments.
• Maintain documentation, comply with ITIL change control, and support audit activities (SOX, PCI, GDPR).

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in enterprise database and messaging platforms.
• Strong background in LDAP directory services and high‑availability architectures.
• Proven ability to manage IBM MQ environments and perform performance tuning.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and regulatory compliance frameworks.
