Senior Director - Design (Sports Stadium)

About the role

Qiddiya Investment Company seeks a Senior Director of Design to lead the creation of world‑class sports stadiums within its ambitious entertainment destination in Saudi Arabia. The role combines strategic vision, multidisciplinary team leadership, and a focus on innovation, sustainability and fan experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural vision for sports stadium projects, aligning with Qiddiya’s brand and strategic goals.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers and specialist consultants.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering and operations to deliver integrated designs that meet performance, safety and regulatory standards.
• Champion innovative solutions in fan experience, accessibility, sustainability and technology integration.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure design compliance and timely delivery.
• Oversee design budgets and schedules, optimizing resources to achieve project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in large‑scale sports stadium or venue design.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams on complex design projects.
• Deep knowledge of stadium design principles, building codes, safety regulations and sustainability standards.
• Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience working in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Revit.
• Proficiency with BIM tools.
• Experience using visualization tools for design presentation.
