Senior Elasticsearch Observability Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Elasticsearch Observability Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and operation of Elasticsearch clusters across our development, staging, and production environments. The role combines deep technical expertise in Elasticsearch administration, security, observability, and Elastic Machine Learning with strong automation and integration skills.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Elasticsearch clusters, handling shard allocation, node sizing, and Index Lifecycle Management.
• Develop and execute scaling strategies to meet performance and capacity requirements.
• Apply security hardening, manage RBAC, TLS certificates, and related configurations.
• Establish SLO monitors in Kibana, link breaches to incident workflows, and maintain alerting runbooks.
• Implement Elastic ML features such as outlier detection, regression, and classification using the Data Frame Analytics API.
• Work with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms, including the Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) Operator.
• Perform Linux/Unix system administration, networking, and storage optimization.
• Create automation and operational tooling using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience managing Elasticsearch clusters in production.
• Strong troubleshooting and technical escalation capabilities.
• Proven experience with Kibana Observability, cluster scaling, and security practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Linux/Unix administration, and networking fundamentals.
• Arabic speaking ability is a plus.
