Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor leads the delivery of internal audit assurance and advisory services across the organization. This role oversees annual planning, execution, and follow‑up of audit engagements, while building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to add value and drive positive change.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full audit lifecycle for a portfolio of engagements, including planning, execution, reporting and follow‑up.
• Lead and coach audit teams, providing timely feedback, development opportunities and performance reviews.
• Develop and maintain a risk‑based audit plan aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with the IA Operations team to streamline administrative processes.
• Partner with senior management to understand business needs and ensure audit activities support those priorities.
• Monitor departmental budgets, approve expenses and ensure compliance with IA policies and delegation of authority.
• Act as Engagement Manager for assigned audits, approving key touchpoints in the audit management system.

Required profile

• Proven experience in internal audit or external audit, preferably within a large organization.
• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with a track record of developing audit teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to think strategically and drive change across work practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of internal audit methodologies and standards.
• Familiarity with audit management systems and risk‑assessment tools.
• Understanding of budgeting and expense control processes.
