Senior Linux Administrator

About the role

DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to join its infrastructure team. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Linux‑based production and development environments while collaborating with DevOps, network, and security groups.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers across multiple distributions.
• Monitor system performance, implement high‑availability solutions, and ensure uptime.
• Apply patches, perform upgrades, and harden security settings.
• Troubleshoot complex system, network, and application issues.
• Manage user access, permissions, and security policies.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash, Python, and other scripting tools.
• Work with virtualization platforms such as VMware and KVM.
• Support backup, disaster‑recovery, and business‑continuity processes.
• Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on Linux system administration experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.
• Experience in high‑availability, mission‑critical environments.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Linux distributions: Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu.
• Scripting: Bash, Python, shell scripting.
• Automation/configuration tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
• Virtualization: VMware, KVM.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred).
• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls.
• Backup, disaster‑recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
