Senior Mechanical Technical Engineer

About the role

A leading real estate developer is looking for a Senior Mechanical Technical Engineer in Riyadh to oversee mechanical technical work across its property assets. The role helps maintain reliable building systems and supports clear project delivery by reviewing technical requirements, resolving mechanical issues and supporting sound decisions across the Property department.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical design and shop drawings (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, chilled water systems) for high-rise tower developments.
• Prepare and coordinate mechanical shop drawings in line with approved design intent, the BIM-coordinated model and site conditions.
• Maintain As-Built drawings for mechanical works, for record and O&M handover.
• Prepare and verify BOQ take-offs for mechanical works to support procurement, tendering and variation/change order evaluation.
• Conduct technical and QC reviews of mechanical installations against approved design, ASHRAE/NFPA and Saudi codes.
• Support BIM coordination for mechanical services and lead resolution of cross-discipline clashes.
• Review vendor technical submittals, equipment datasheets and material approvals.
• Guide site mechanical engineers on complex system design and installation issues.
• Take part in testing, balancing and commissioning reviews of mechanical systems.

Required profile

• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and building systems.
• Experience reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Ability to assess mechanical issues and give clear, workable recommendations.
• Confidence preparing technical reports and keeping accurate engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of mechanical materials and equipment used in property projects.
• Ability to coordinate mechanical requirements with project stakeholders.
