Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Engineer

About the role

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Engineer to design, build, migrate, and operate enterprise cloud environments. The role covers OCI infrastructure, cloud migration, cloud‑native services, DevOps automation, and Oracle application workloads. You will collaborate with architects, application teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement OCI tenancy structures, including compartments, VCNs, subnets, security lists, NSGs and DRGs.
• Provision and manage compute (VM, Bare Metal, Flex), storage, load balancers and networking services.
• Configure IAM policies, identity federation, dynamic groups and instance principals using least‑privilege principles.
• Implement connectivity and security services such as FastConnect, IPSec VPN, WAF and Cloud Guard.
• Lead workload migrations from on‑premises or other clouds to OCI, including discovery, assessment and migration planning.
• Support database migrations using OCI Database Migration Service, Data Pump, GoldenGate or Zero‑Downtime Migration.
• Build and manage containerised workloads with OCI Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE) and design CI/CD pipelines using OCI DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins or ArgoCD.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform (OCI provider), OCI Resource Manager, Ansible or Pulumi.
• Implement monitoring and observability using OCI Monitoring, Logging, Logging Analytics and Application Performance Monitoring.
• Deploy and manage Oracle Database services on OCI, including Exadata Cloud Service and Autonomous Database, and configure Data Guard, RMAN and Autonomous Data Guard.
• Produce high‑level designs, architecture documentation, runbooks and operational playbooks, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 7–8 years of progressive cloud engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on OCI.
• Hands‑on experience with OCI Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, Database and Security services.
• Proven experience delivering migrations from on‑premises or other clouds to OCI.
• Strong Terraform experience using the OCI provider.
• Experience with Kubernetes/OKE and CI/CD pipeline design.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, GoldenGate).
• Linux administration, shell scripting and automation using Python, Bash or Go.
• Solid understanding of DNS, load balancing, firewalls, VPNs and network peering.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate with stakeholders.
