Senior Reserving Specialist / Actuary

About the role

Al Etihad Cooperative Insurance Company, a leading insurer in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Senior Reserving Specialist / Actuary to strengthen its reserving function. The role will work closely with the appointed actuary and pricing team to ensure accurate reserve estimates and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Validate the methodology and assumptions for reserves set by the appointed actuary, recommending changes when needed.
• Enhance the existing internal reserving model to improve accuracy and reliability.
• Develop automated processes to capture and store reserving input/output data.
• Manage and coach a junior staff member assisting with reserving duties.
• Collaborate with the pricing sub‑team to reflect reserving implications on technical pricing and portfolio monitoring.
• Present reserving analysis outcomes to senior management.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the direct manager within the scope of the job.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum five years of actuarial experience in a property and casualty (P&C) insurance company.
• Associate or Fellow designation from a recognized actuarial professional body.
