About the role

Ma'aden, a multi-commodity mining and metals company based in Saudi Arabia, is hiring a Senior Specialist, Sustainability & Energy Solutions in Thuwal. The role identifies opportunities to improve energy efficiency, resource utilization and environmental performance across operations, turning operational and sustainability data into actionable insights that support decision-making and value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Improve energy efficiency, resource utilization and sustainability performance across assigned initiatives, using data-driven analysis and benchmarking to find performance gaps.
• Set up performance baselines, indicators and tracking mechanisms, and deliver sustainability and energy optimization initiatives with clear operational and environmental benefits.
• Support pilots, proof-of-concept and implementation activities, and provide techno-economic analysis to strengthen investment decisions.
• Produce dashboards, reports and performance insights, and turn complex data into practical recommendations and business actions.
• Build partnerships across operations, engineering, sustainability and Technology & Innovation, and promote knowledge sharing and awareness.
• Keep sustainability activities aligned with environmental regulations, ESG requirements and corporate governance, and strengthen audit readiness through documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Energy Systems or a related discipline.
• 4-6 years of relevant experience in industrial, mining, sustainability, energy, technology or innovation-driven environments.
• Experience supporting sustainability, energy optimization or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in performance analytics, reporting and business insight generation, and working with cross-functional teams.
