Site Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Site Electrical Engineer will lead the execution and supervision of electrical installation works for solar PV projects, ensuring that all systems are installed to specification and safely commissioned. This role works on‑site, coordinating closely with civil, mechanical and commissioning teams to deliver high‑quality installations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and supervise electrical installation works for solar PV projects (DC & AC).
• Oversee installation of solar modules, string wiring, junction boxes, inverters, transformers, HT/LT panels and switchgear.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical and commissioning teams for smooth site execution.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, BOQs and project specifications.
• Supervise DC and AC cabling, earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Perform testing and commissioning of inverters, transformers, panels and protection systems, including IR, continuity, polarity and functional tests.
• Support grid synchronization and handover to client/utility.
• Maintain quality standards, conduct inspections and ensure adherence to electrical safety norms and HSE policies.
• Prepare daily progress reports, material reconciliation and site documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and internal teams to resolve execution challenges.
