Site Manager – Battery Energy Storage System

About the role

ENGIE is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the construction, commissioning and hand‑over of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures that all construction activities meet contractual obligations, safety standards and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Align construction activities with project contracts and timelines.
• Develop and implement risk‑management and sustainability strategies.
• Monitor and supervise the contractor’s work, ensuring compliance with safety, health, environmental and social requirements.
• Lead the grid‑connection scope, including substation, transmission interfaces and compliance with the Saudi Grid Code.
• Establish and enforce interface procedures with SEC and SPPC from kickoff through energisation and commercial operation.
• Review and validate engineering deliverables, power‑system studies and substation designs.
• Oversee testing, factory acceptance, site acceptance, commissioning and performance testing.

Required profile

• Proven ability to manage large‑scale construction projects in the energy sector.
• Experience supervising contractors and coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of grid‑connection requirements and substation engineering.
• Capability to develop and enforce risk‑management and sustainability policies.
