Summer Trainee – Patient Engagement & Advocacy (Riyadh)

About the role

Vertex is offering a 6–8 week summer training program in Riyadh for motivated students interested in patient engagement, health education, and healthcare communications. The trainee will work with the International Patient Engagement (IPE) team to develop and localize Arabic patient education materials while gaining exposure to advocacy, digital content creation, and cross‑functional collaboration in a regulated biotechnology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, localization, and review of Arabic patient education materials, ensuring clarity, cultural relevance, and consistency.
• Conduct research on disease awareness, patient education needs, and public‑health topics.
• Assist with patient‑facing digital content, presentations, and visual assets, coordinating with internal teams and external agencies.
• Participate in meetings with patient organizations and collect patient insights to inform education strategies.
• Help maintain organized content libraries, project timelines, and documentation.

Required profile

• Current university student with strong interest in patient engagement, health education, or healthcare communications.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, with ability to adapt content for cultural relevance.
• Excellent written communication and research skills.
• Enthusiastic, detail‑oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a hybrid on‑site environment.
