Technical Safety Management Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Safety Management Engineer to lead safety activities for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role combines on‑site technical support, hazard identification, and safety compliance for renewable‑energy and power‑plant installations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of on‑site energy storage systems.
• Address technical issues promptly to minimise downtime and collaborate with R&D for continuous improvement.
• Provide customer technical support, training and after‑sales service.
• Conduct site inspections for electrical, fire, chemical and slip/trip hazards; enforce PPE and NFPA 70E/OSHA standards.
• Perform daily and monthly hazard hunts, document corrective actions and verify fire, gas and explosion‑prevention systems.
• Prepare safety inspection reports, update procedures and maintain PPE and compliance records.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, CAPA reporting and emergency drills; coordinate with Grid Control Center and emergency responders.
• Deliver safety inductions, refresher training and promote proactive safety culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years HSE experience, preferably in renewable energy, BESS, power plants or solar PV.
• Experience with Saudi Arabia or SEC projects and familiarity with Saudi HSE standards is a plus.
• NEBOSH IGC and IOSH/OSHA certifications highly preferred.

• Power Conversion System (PCS), Medium‑Voltage (MV) Skids, Energy Management System (EMS).
• HV/MV electrical systems, grounding, fire and gas detection, explosion‑prevention equipment.
• NFPA 70E, OSHA safety standards.
• Safety inspection, hazard identification, incident investigation and CAPA reporting.
• Emergency response planning and coordination with grid control centers.
