Temporary English Teacher (General & Academic)

About the role

English Path is seeking a temporary English teacher to support its intensive General and Academic English programmes during peak periods and new course roll‑outs. The role involves delivering high‑quality lessons to learners preparing for higher‑education study and improving everyday communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, student‑focused English lessons covering reading, writing, listening and speaking.
• Develop learners’ academic vocabulary, paragraph writing, skimming and scanning techniques, and listening comprehension.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs and cultural contexts, ensuring alignment with EP academic standards.
• Optionally teach Academic English (EAP) topics such as essay structure, referencing, paraphrasing, critical thinking and research skills.
• Provide a positive, inclusive classroom environment and encourage independent learning.
• Mark student work, give timely feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Support academic teams with placement testing, progress monitoring and course preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (essential).
• CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent (essential).
• 1–3 years teaching experience in General or Academic English.
• Familiarity with IELTS and academic English requirements.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of communicative teaching methodologies.
• Comfortable using classroom technology.
