Warehouse Operator (Associate Storekeeper)

About the role

The Associate Storekeeper / Warehouse Operator is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing and maintaining inventory while keeping stock records accurate and warehouse operations efficient. The role follows established safety, quality and inventory control procedures to ensure the smooth movement of materials. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery documents.
• Store materials in designated locations following warehouse layout and storage standards.
• Pick, pack and issue materials accurately according to approved requests.
• Record inventory transactions in the ERP/WMS system and keep accurate stock records.
• Carry out routine cycle counts and support periodic physical inventory.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Ensure proper labeling, identification and traceability of inventory.
• Load and unload deliveries with material handling equipment where authorised.
• Maintain a clean, organised warehouse complying with 5S standards.
• Follow company safety policies and wear the required PPE.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or certification in logistics, warehousing or supply chain is an advantage.
• 0 to 4 years of experience in warehouse, stores or inventory operations.
• Experience with ERP or WMS is preferred; forklift certification is an advantage where applicable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Good organisational and time management skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and good communication and teamwork skills.
