Water Engineer – Large‑Scale Urban Projects

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Water Engineer to join its Makkah office and lead the design of water infrastructure for large‑scale urban master‑plan projects. You will work on high‑rise and mixed‑use developments, delivering reliable, efficient and sustainable water solutions that support growing communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of potable water networks, treatment facilities, distribution systems and high‑rise building water solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, options appraisals and concept designs for complex water projects within urban master‑plan frameworks.
• Perform advanced engineering analysis and modeling of integrated water systems to optimise performance, cost‑effectiveness and resilience.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of civil engineers, environmental specialists and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, calculations, construction drawings and integration reports.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling and risk management for large‑scale programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale urban water infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design teams and manage complex technical programmes.
• Strong understanding of regional and international water standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
