Workshop Foreman - Heavy Vehicles & Equipment

About the role

A client of ARVO is seeking an experienced, hands-on Workshop Foreman to relocate to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, and oversee the daily operations of a busy heavy vehicle and equipment workshop. This is a permanent, full-time, non-rotational position with standard annual leave. The foreman leads a team of technicians, manages workshop workflows, maintains productivity targets and ensures maximum fleet availability. Only South African citizens willing and able to relocate to Saudi Arabia will be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily workshop activities, allocate work to technicians and adjust schedules for breakdowns, urgent repairs and parts availability
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex faults and approve completed work before equipment returns to service
• Lead, supervise and coach technicians, run daily briefings and support performance management
• Complete job cards, labour hours and repair records, monitor productivity and prepare regular performance reports
• Coordinate with stores and procurement for parts, support inventory control and ensure tools and equipment are maintained
• Enforce health, safety and environmental procedures, conduct toolbox talks and maintain housekeeping standards
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and equipment reliability

Required profile

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a recognised Trade Test or Red Seal qualification
• Minimum 5-8 years' post-trade experience in a heavy vehicle, fleet or diesel workshop
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Foreman, Leading Hand, Workshop Supervisor or similar
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and diagnostics
• Experience with workshop scheduling, job cards and work-in-progress management
• Sound understanding of workshop health and safety requirements
