Air Operations Officer – Jeddah

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross is seeking a qualified Air Operations Officer to coordinate ground aviation activities in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role ensures smooth transport of passengers, luggage, cargo and diplomatic pouches while providing welcome services for staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of passengers, baggage, cargo and diplomatic pouches, including check‑in, boarding and travel briefings.
• Supervise aircraft ground operations such as loading, unloading, refuelling and weight‑balance documentation.
• Assist flight crews with flight planning, weather information and monitor aircraft schedules.
• Obtain flight, security and landing clearances; liaise with airport authorities, ground handlers, customs, immigration and security agencies.
• Ensure compliance with AirOps SOPs, monitor security situations and report safety or operational concerns.
• Arrange visas, travel documentation, transport, accommodation and airport pickups for staff, coordinating with ministries and consulates.

Required profile

• University degree in logistics, aviation or a related field.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
• 1‑3 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 1 year in an airline, flight department or airport environment.
• Experience with ramp operations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using online collaboration tools.
