Back End Necker Mechanic

About the role

We are looking for a Back End Necker Mechanic to maintain and improve high-speed can-making equipment used in metal packaging production. The role ensures the reliability of Back End and LSM Necker machinery, supporting the delivery of high-quality packaging for leading brands.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on Back End and LSM Necker machinery.
• Carry out daily checks and continuously monitor plant and production equipment.
• Support equipment overhauls, height/diameter changes, and mechanical upgrades.
• Assist with installation, trials, and commissioning of new machinery.
• Complete work orders in the Apriso system within agreed timeframes.
• Rebuild unit spares and manage spare parts inventory.
• Provide training and support to team members and cover shifts when required.
• Operate a forklift (FLT) and perform machining tasks such as turning, milling and grinding as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical maintenance of production equipment.
• Ability to work shifts and provide on-the-job training.
• Comfort operating forklift equipment.
• Willingness to perform machining operations when required.

Required skills

• Preventative and reactive maintenance techniques.
• Use of the Apriso work-order system.
• Spare parts rebuilding and inventory management.
• Forklift (FLT) operation.
• Machining skills: turning, milling, grinding.
