Controls Project Engineer – Airport Engineering

About the role

As a Controls Project Engineer you will work closely with the Project Leader, Integration Manager and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will manage control‑engineering solutions, support sales during the bid and contract phases and drive successful project delivery in an international airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and program PLC controls for airport material handling systems, delivering functional specifications.
• Develop detailed designs, program and test PLC software, and commission systems on‑site.
• Integrate PLC applications into the overall control architecture and support customer acceptance testing.
• Monitor project budget and schedule, report progress, and apply corrective actions when needed.

Required profile

• Technical degree (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Computer Science or Control Technology) at bachelor level or higher.
• At least 8 years of experience in project engineering, system integration and solution design, preferably in material handling.
• Knowledge of design practices, qualification requirements and the systems development lifecycle.

Required skills

• PLC programming (TIA Portal, Siemens S7‑300/400, Siemens S7‑1500).
• Experience with Allen Bradley or other PLC platforms.
• SCADA development (WinCC, WebFactory, etc.).
• Safety PLC programming (Siemens safety PLC).
• Fieldbus technologies (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, AS‑I, CC‑Link).
