Backend Engineer - Wallets

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer specialized in wallet infrastructure to help shape the future of decentralized finance. You will design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services that enable secure digital asset operations for a global user base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services for wallet infrastructure and digital asset operations.
• Build and optimise micro‑services capable of handling large‑scale real‑time transactions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver innovative backend solutions.
• Implement and enforce platform security best practices to protect user assets and data.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improve system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work with databases and distributed systems to ensure efficient data storage and synchronization.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues while identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Stay current with emerging blockchain, peer‑to‑peer, and backend technologies.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript backend development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience building high‑availability backend platforms.
• Familiarity with peer‑to‑peer and decentralized system concepts.
• Proficiency with MySQL and MongoDB databases.
• Strong grasp of backend security principles and secure coding practices.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills for remote, international collaboration.
