Staff Protocol Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Protocol Engineer to drive the next generation of scalable blockchain infrastructure and payment‑focused distributed systems. This high‑impact role will work on cutting‑edge initiatives such as proposer‑builder separation, MEV mitigation, and near‑instant transaction finality in a remote‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of advanced blockchain protocol improvements.
• Develop next‑generation scalability solutions, including throughput optimization and high‑performance execution architectures.
• Own protocol initiatives related to proposer‑builder separation, MEV mitigation, and transaction ordering.
• Build parallelized transaction execution models for EVM‑based environments.
• Drive low‑latency transaction experiences through pre‑confirmation mechanisms and near‑instant finality.
• Contribute to Ethereum‑compatible clients and distributed‑systems tooling.
• Explore specialized execution pathways for payment‑focused use cases such as stablecoins.
• Collaborate with research, security, and infrastructure teams to safely deploy protocol upgrades.
• Apply AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, testing, and performance analysis.
• Mentor engineers and enforce high standards for system design and code quality.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in distributed systems and blockchain infrastructure.
• Strong leadership capabilities with hands‑on engineering experience.
• 7+ years of experience in backend, distributed systems, or protocol engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Golang and experience building large‑scale distributed or blockchain systems.
