Business Development Engineer

About the role

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Business Development Engineer to drive growth in the Power and Energy sector across Saudi Arabia. The role blends electrical engineering expertise with commercial acumen to identify and secure new opportunities in power generation, transmission, distribution and substation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities within the Power and Energy sector, including generation, T&D and substation projects.
• Develop and execute a focused business development strategy targeting developers, EPC contractors and utilities such as SEC and NGC.
• Lead client engagement from initial approach through proposal submission and contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with technical, design and engineering teams to ensure proposals reflect accurate scope and value proposition.
• Track and report on the business development pipeline, win rates and revenue targets to senior management.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in engineering, design or consulting firms.
• At least 3–4 years of sales, business development or marketing experience in the Power/Energy domain.
• Proven track record of securing new business with developers and contractors, preferably in Saudi Arabia.

Required skills

• Strong technical understanding of power generation, transmission, distribution and substation systems.
• Excellent business development, negotiation and relationship management capabilities.
• Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
