Business Development Manager – Energy (Oil & Gas)

About the role

As a Technical Business Developer on the AWS Energy team, you will own the regional strategy for midstream and downstream energy in the Middle East, linking operational challenges with AWS cloud solutions. You will work closely with VP‑level and C‑suite leaders of major oil & gas operators to accelerate digital transformation across the value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the go‑to‑market strategy for midstream and downstream energy in the Middle East, targeting VP and C‑level leaders.
• Identify, qualify and build a pipeline of new business opportunities, driving deals from initial conversation to signed contract.
• Create technical content such as whitepapers, reference architectures and solution briefs for use cases like digital twins, carbon management and OSDU.
• Collaborate with AWS account teams, ISVs and systems integrators to co‑develop solutions for refining, petrochemical and pipeline operations.
• Represent AWS Energy at regional industry events and executive briefings.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements in the Energy & Utilities sector.
• Proven track record of engaging VP‑level or C‑suite executives and influencing organizational decisions.
• Experience presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred in business economics, engineering, analytics or related field.
