Cardiovascular Technician

About the role

The Cardiovascular Technician provides essential support in diagnosing and treating heart and vascular conditions. Working under direct physician supervision, the technician prepares patients, operates advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, and assists during invasive procedures to ensure accurate results and optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for left and right heart catheterizations, coronary and peripheral angiography, and other interventional procedures.
• Assemble, operate, and maintain hemodynamic, electrophysiological, fluoroscopic, and cineangiography equipment.
• Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging to document catheter placement and procedural findings.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after procedures, and provide CPR when required.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, ensure a clean work environment, and conduct equipment calibration and quality assurance testing.
• Record and archive patient data, images, and reports in both digital and hard‑copy formats.
• Assist physicians with research studies, equipment testing, and preparation of annual equipment plans and budgets.

Required profile

• Relevant certification or diploma in cardiovascular technology or a related health field.
• Ability to work under direct supervision while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

Required skills

• Operation of hemodynamic and electrophysiological equipment.
• Fluoroscopic and cineangiography imaging techniques.
• Use of contrast injection systems and intra‑aortic balloon pump.
• Cardiac output computer and pulse generator handling.
• Equipment calibration, quality assurance, and routine maintenance.
• Data archiving and report generation.
