Chief Accountant

About the role

ABYAT, the leading retail destination in the Middle East, is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its finance function in Riyadh. You will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the company’s growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day accounting activities, including AP, AR, fixed assets, intercompany, and other assigned functions.
• Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and ensure proper allocation of transactions to cost centres, business units and projects.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes, guaranteeing timely and accurate financial statements.
• Perform journal entry reviews, accruals, provisions, pre‑payments and accounting adjustments.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, ensuring robust financial controls.
• Collaborate with Finance and other business functions to address operational issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high‑volume retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local Saudi accounting regulations.
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented professional capable of leading a team.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
