Core Shed Supervisor

About the role

The Core Shed Supervisor leads the safe and efficient management of core and RC samples for the ERD Gold unit at the Mansourah‑Massarah mine. This role ensures that all geological materials are received, processed, tracked, stored, and dispatched in line with company standards for safety, QA/QC, and data integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily core shed operations, coordinating receipt, cutting, sampling, photography, SG/density testing, storage, and shipment.
• Maintain robust sample tracking, inventory control, and documentation using approved spreadsheets and databases.
• Monitor QA/QC performance, sample turnaround times, and laboratory issues, escalating deviations as needed.
• Plan and assign work for technicians, balancing priorities across geologists, drill programs, laboratories, and logistics.
• Lead safe operation and inspection of core shed equipment, including forklifts and lifting gear, and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, participate in safety inspections, and reinforce stop‑work expectations.
• Train, onboard, and coach technicians on sampling procedures, equipment use, QA/QC, and safety.
• Act as the primary liaison between geologists, drilling contractors, laboratories, couriers, and site support functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Science or a related geoscience discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in core shed operations, geological sampling, or related roles.
• Demonstrated supervisory or team‑lead experience in a technical mining or exploration environment.
• Strong understanding of diamond core and RC sample handling, QA/QC protocols, and chain‑of‑custody controls.
