DEQ Maintenance Technician

About the role

The DEQ Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of depot equipment and workshop machinery within railway or industrial environments. The role involves performing both preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting faults, and supporting emergency interventions on site.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on depot equipment and workshop machinery.
• Perform troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, repair, adjustment and replacement of defective components.
• Conduct routine inspections, condition monitoring and support breakdown recovery and emergency maintenance.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals and maintenance procedures.
• Use testing and measuring instruments for diagnostics and record activities in a CMMS.
• Prepare maintenance reports and intervention records, and assist engineers during major maintenance activities.
• Apply Lock‑Out Tag‑Out (LOTO) procedures, maintain housekeeping and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Report safety observations, incidents, near‑misses and equipment abnormalities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in railway systems, metro, LRT, depot equipment or industrial maintenance.
• Medical fitness for railway maintenance activities and successful background verification.
• Preferred certifications: Electrical Safety, LOTO, Working at Height, First Aid, Mechanical/Electrical technical certifications.
