DevOps Engineer – Lead Large‑Scale Transformation

About the role

We are looking for a visionary DevOps Engineer to lead a large‑scale DevOps transformation for a governmental organisation. The role combines strategic assessment, design of a target operating model and hands‑on implementation of a secure, automated framework while coaching the client’s team to build lasting capability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive current‑state analysis of tools, practices and security posture, using industry standards such as DORA metrics.
• Identify gaps, pain points and security vulnerabilities and produce detailed analysis reports.
• Define a roadmap and target operating model for DevSecOps adoption, including phased action plans.
• Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines and security controls to achieve a secure, repeatable delivery process.
• Coach and mentor the client’s engineers, fostering a cultural shift toward DevSecOps and sustainable best practices.
• Monitor progress, measure maturity improvements and adjust the transformation plan as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading end‑to‑end DevOps or DevSecOps transformations in complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of DevOps maturity models and metrics (e.g., DORA).
• Ability to assess security posture and embed security into automated pipelines.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills to drive cultural change.
